This is going to be a pretty short section, as there is only really one thing people ask about.

1) Isn't Disco Dave dead?

-That's not as simple an answer as you would expect.  In the literal sense, the large bearded gentleman pictured below (aka the Original Disco Dave) passed away in late 2007.

2) So, uh... What gives?

-Well that's a pretty general question, buster.  But I assume you mean "What about the several front page and thousands of forum posts that bare his name that have been made since?" That answer is a little more complicated as well.

After Disco Dave disappeared, discussions were had in the staff section of the forum, on AIM and in IRC.  Somewhere along the line, a running joke started about filling the void left by Disco's departure with posts created by a random post generator (similar to gag sites like the Alanis Morrisette lyric generator).  The 'formula' for a Disco Dave post was rather simple.  Shit on everything, toss in a few racial epethets and some emo song lyrics, and *BOOM*, Disco Dave post.  The first one of these appeared on Lethal Wrestling just before Christmas in the form of a Holiday Parody Post, something Disco did every year.  This post has been lost to one of the many server crashes that have crippled Lethal over the years.  Since then, various members of Lethal have written and posted pieces in the Disco Dave style.  The posting account is open to all members of staff, so unless they admit it, there is no way to tell who wrote what. As for the final post by the 'original' Disco, there is some dispute about that.  Some staff claim that this post, a review of a Christmas cd for Lethal Entertainment, is an authentic Disco Dave post.  However it was posted several weeks after his death.  One of the admins claims that Disco emailed it to him in November along with a copy of the CD.  His explanation that Disco didn't want to post it until Christmas was plausable, but many people don't buy it.  That makes this post the final 'confirmed' Disco Dave post on the front page that we can find.  If you were to refer to the old list of Disco Dave posts, a joint post between Disco Dave and Pez about the death of Chris Benoit was made just after this, but was lost to a server crash.

As for the forum personna that exists today, that's a little more straight forward.  After the first couple of front page posts, staff started using his forum account to post there as well.  It was all a big joke that most of the forum was in on. A few of the people that weren't first expressed shock at the return of a 'deceased' member, then got all butthurt when they found out what really happened.  But there were many more people that, because of not being around every day, had no idea that Disco was gone at all.  By the way, if you are part of this group, "Hi. Welcome to the big inside joke." At some point, I obtained the password to the account.  People weren't using it any more, so I started using it instead of my own.  After a while, I changed the related email address and the password so the account was no longer open to the rest of the people that were using it.  This caused a few more instances of butthurt posters, but an admin could have fixed it at any time. Instead they chose to let me continue using it.  So, depending on how long you have been around Lethal, I am the only Disco Dave you know.  At least on the forums.

3) Who owns / pays for this website?

-Disco Dave registered this website years ago, and it still remains in his name.  When the domain registration ran out in 2008 (or 09, can't remember), I managed to convince the registrar that I was Disco, and that I had lost my login information and old email address.  I suppose paying to renew the registration helped that process.  The site is hosted on free servers since it has virtually no traffic.

4) Will the archive ever come back with all of the original posts?

-Unless someone manages to find all of the posts somewhere in the Lethal server, either hidden or in back-up files, far too many of the posts are permanently missing.  The last version of this website, which I stopped maintaining a while ago, linked enough of the posts to compile the top ten list.  It's possible that some of the other posts will be reposted if they ever become relevant again by some of the staff members.  That probably rules most of the recaps out.
